Toys produced in a technology culture are strange, hybrid representations of plant and animal forms rooted within the natural environment.  If we lose the connection with our natural origin; we lose the ability to calculate the true worth of the object we have chosen to take its place.  The value becomes disconnected, remote and eventually meaningless.  Turtle toys, animal farms, and stuffed toys are sometimes the only connection children have to the natural world.
