This painting is a 3-D sculptural Watercolor. It is an expanded technique of traditional watercolor with multiple painted, overlapping paper images, cutout, embossed and raised above the surface. The rope, flowers, rocks on the cliff, carbiner, and bracelet on the climber are cut-out.
Humans explore opportunities to challenge our endurance and land-locked agility skills. Often these activities place us in the path of other inhabitants in that environment, and they may not appreciate the daring quests of the adventurous. So, make friends and tread lightly.
This painting is on exhibit October 3, 2015 to January 3, 2016 at the Herberger Theater in Phoenix, AZ.
