The estuary in San Carlos Mexico is a haven for wintering birds. More than 20 bird species roost in the mangrove trees along the edges of the winding tidal waterway.
I explored the area in the early morning in a kayak and paddled by when in a few feet of these beautiful White Pelicans. They preened and talked to each other and they seemed very contented to me.

I preserved this moment in my painting.
